Responsibilities
Under direction of the CTO, NOC Admins / Network and System Administrators are the first point of contact for customers with network or systems related operational issues. Responsible for resolving Tier I/II technical problems and answering by email, and telephone, personnel will utilize the Nexus Director network management platform, and other tools to provide efficient, responsive, and rapid problem resolution to customer trouble tickets, network and systems outages.
The qualified candidate must possess strong attention to detail and follow-through, be dedicated to principles of quality customer service, have excellent independent problem-solving skills, and have a desire to excel as an individual and as part of a team. This is a position with potential career paths to other roles within the Technical Operations and Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with the skills below as well as display a broad range of IT knowledge.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or 4 years of comparable Network Operations NOC or Systems Administration Experience
Minimum of 5 years networking experience
Experience with Handling customer tickets
Proven ability to multi task, strong verbal, and written skills required
Participate in a flexible work schedule, and 24X7 standby rotation
Ability to be on call and respond within 10 minutes of receiving an alarm via email or text message
Reside within 30 minutes of downtown Los Angeles
Must be able to lift heavy equipment overhead of up to 60lbs
Ability to persuade and use problem solving conflict resolution skills during tense and high pressure situations
Professional attitude and customer service oriented approach ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

Detailed Responsibilities
The NOC Admin / Network and Systems Administrator is expected to be able to perform the following functions on a daily basis. These include, but are not limited to:
Continuously be available to receive alerts from monitoring applications, constantly aware of errors and other signs of trouble
On can standby administrators will be available at all times handle emergency issues during SLA hours and off hours
Identify and define issues on the network or in management systems
Evaluate and identify the methods and means for issue resolution
Alert Management of recurring problems, patterns
Detect cause of incidents based on monitoring tools, alerts, and log files
Use varied graphs, charts, diagrams, technical schematics, equipment configurations, and isolation to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Develop procedures and documentation to be used by the NOC as new errors and troubleshooting processes are identified
Clearly and concisely describe incidents within the ticketing system, documenting symptoms and steps taken to resolve in the NOC run-book
Document and implement direction in the NOC run-book on communicating resolution procedures to customers
Triage incidents and perform documented troubleshooting and resolution steps when a known error is identified
Work closely with Tier III technical support, engineers, customers, and other groups as needed to narrow investigative efforts and resolve incidents
Refer complex issues to higher-level support groups using established escalation procedures
Work as a team, to ensure system uptime and incident response times meeting or exceeding service level agreements with business units and customers
Effectively notify business units and management of incidents impacting production and corporate systems
Develop new monitors and modify existing monitor thresholds as new monitoring needs are identified
Maintain critical documentation assets
Setup new customer systems, installing OS, patches, provisioning IPs, and switch VLANs, send customer welcome letters
Maintain current customer systems upgrading OS, patching, replacing failed components in customer systems
Physically go to the datacenter to perform hardware upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
Make patch cables, cable racks, configure network devices
